If you are looking to build a strong career, we have an opportunity for you! We currently have an opportunity for a Process Leader to join our team located at our facility in South Boston, VA.

Your Role:

The Process Leader is responsible for the overall performance of any and all processes relating to employee relations, safety, productivity, and cost of production. This position will support the Company’s Mission, Vision, Values, Goals and Business Objectives through continuous improvement and process development projects, including supporting the Lean Manufacturing process. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensure that equipment modifications are made to reduce hazards as soon as potential problems are recognized and communicate changes in equipment and processes to Shift Leaders and affected employees.
  • Develop and maintain best practices library for processes while ensuring plant compliance.
  • Monitor customer complaint rates and trends and work with quality to complete corrective action reports and initiate corrective action to minimize or eliminate customer complaints.
  • Work closely with quality to ensure that product specifications are clear and correct.
  • Identify project hot spots, criticalities and activity priorities.
  • Analyze process and product improvements and initiate necessary action to maximize efficiencies, as well as submit quantifiable cost savings ideas while improving cost performance against budget.
  • In locations where applicable, responsible to comply with the SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with authority to take action.

We need you to have:

  • BS/BA in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional and progressive experience in plant operations role, preferably in a Process or Technical Specialist capacity.
  • 2+ years prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff.
  • Experience using DOE’s and other statistical tools for problem solving.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • A commitment to excellence and continuous improvement with experience in various Continuous Improvement Processes and Initiatives (i.e. 5S, Value Streams, Six Sigma, TPM).
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
  • Proficient in SAP or Oracle a plus.
