We currently have an opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our team at our highly automated plant in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Your Role:

The Process Engineer role supports the manufacturing process using engineering skills to assess, manage, implement, improve or revise processes, with the goal of improving efficiency of operation, safety and the consistency of product quality. The individual will be responsible for developing procedures that facilitate the adoption of standardized processes that support future expansion. In addition, the individual will monitor the effectiveness of processes and quantifies results and presents findings to management. The role requires preparation of detailed reports and analysis for use by management in measuring overall production efficiency. You will have the opportunity to: 

  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, and quality; resolving problems; completing time studies; identifying trends; and implementing change.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer. 
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; seminars, and trade shows. 
  • Confer with vendors, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status. 
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Assess, document, and monitor existing processes.
  • Implement and evaluate changes to existing processes designed to enhance productivity, safety or product quality.
  • Interact closely with new product development group to assist in implementation and scale up of new products on the production lines.
  • Analyze current machinery conditions and works with internal and external resources to modify and improve operational effectiveness.

We need you to have:

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2-4 years practical work experience in blown film extrusion or film converting preferred, but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude required. 
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 
  • Knowledge of process-related standards. 
  • Excellent technical skills. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (Root Cause analysis techniques required). 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, CAD, Solidworks.

Icing on the cake:

  • 2-4 years practical work experience in film converting preferred.
  • 5S and Lean experience preferred.
  • Prior experience training employees.
