If you are looking to build a strong career, we have an opportunity for you! We are searching for an Associate Brand Manager to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Your Role:

As an Associate Brand Manager, you are responsible for leading a variety of projects and marketing initiatives for the respective business unit.  In this position, you will: analyze category, segment and consumer trends and monitor competitive activity; lead cross-functional teams to commercialize and launch new products; participate in the planning and development of creative assets as well as advertising and promotional campaigns; coordinate across the functional teams regarding cost reductions and product improvements. This role also has P&L responsibility for a small profit center. We embrace and accept individual experiences and backgrounds to achieve a diverse and inclusive workplace.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain a deep understanding in a variety of consumer packaging categories by analyzing current consumption performance, consumer trends, market conditions, and competitive activity.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to: commercialize packaging/product changes as well as launch new line extensions to achieve plan commitments; address necessary pricing changes amidst material cost fluctuations.
  • Gain knowledge and assist in the development and execution of an integrated marketing plan as well as the management of an advertising/promotional budget, including creating purchase orders and managing invoices for research vendors and media partners.
  • Gain knowledge and assist in the development and execution of media campaigns, as well as tracking, reporting, and optimizing them based on key metrics and performance.
  • Gain knowledge and assist in the identification and development of learning plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Organize and deliver presentations to field sales for use with customers on new distribution/new product sell in opportunities.
  • Prepare and communicate project/business updates to senior management.
  • Engage and assist in management of external resources as necessary to support ongoing business needs and new product development.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Sales, Marketing, or another business-related field.
  • 2+ years of related professional brand management/marketing experience in the CPG industry.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience with Nielsen or IRI consumer and syndicated data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and various internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems logically and systematically.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Must be team oriented and able to work on high collaboration and high-performance teams.
  • Ability to travel (5%).

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience with research and new product development.
