We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Planner to join our team located in Richmond, VA at the Bellwood Plant.

Your Role:

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing detailed job plans to ensure the efficient execution of maintenance activities. This role involves identifying and validating work requests, prioritizing tasks based on criticality, and creating comprehensive job packages that include scope, procedures, materials, tools, and safety requirements. The planner coordinates with various departments to ensure resource availability, manages work schedules, and maintains accurate documentation of equipment conditions and maintenance history. Additionally, the planner analyzes work performance, identifies areas for improvement, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, communicate, and implement a monthly preventative maintenance calendar to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Develop Detailed Job Plans: Create comprehensive job packages that include the scope, procedures, materials, tools, and safety requirements to ensure efficient execution of maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with Various Departments: Work closely with departments such as operations, engineering, and procurement to ensure resource availability and manage work schedules.
  • Analyze Work Performance: Evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance activities, identify areas for improvement, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Maintain Accurate Documentation: Keep detailed records of equipment conditions, maintenance history, Equip BOM’s, and work performed to support planning and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards: Implement and adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all maintenance activities.
  • Schedule & plan PM activities.
  • Prioritize and Schedule work and resources to accomplish required tasks in allotted time.
  • Ensure all plant safety policies and safe quality product policies are adhered to by plant personnel and contractors.
  • Conduct problem solving activities to solve plant problems to root in a team setting.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and one-point lessons.
  • In locations where applicable, responsible to comply with the SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with authority to take action.

We need you to have:

  • Degree in Technical writing, Computer Science, or another Technical related field.
  • Experience with maintaining a CMMS.
  • SAP or similar MRP system experience.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.

Icing on the cake:

  • Database experience.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical terminology.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Work experience in Printing, Packaging, Nylon Film, Blown Film Extrusion, or Film Converting.
