We are searching for a Senior Finance Manager - Operations to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Your Role:

The Senior Finance Manager - Operations is responsible for accounting and financial reporting within Reynolds Consumer Products. The role includes review and analysis of the overall financial statements and providing schedules and analysis in support of external reporting requirements. Areas of focus include cost of sales at standard, manufacturing variances, and inventory valuation and reporting. A strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing operations are essential for the role. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Oversee, train, and develop direct reports including staff and senior operations accountants.
  • Computation and analysis of capitalized raw material variances, production variances, labor, and overhead.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting system, documentation, and records within an SAP environment.
  • Determine costs and efficiency of company purchasing activities including the accurate reporting of vendor rebates.
  • Review costs for all external inventory, labor, and material purchases.
  • Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
  • Collect and compile purchasing data for analysis.
  • Perform all areas of standard costing including development of raw material standard, conversion costs, and reconciliation between standard and actual.
  • Conduct inventory transactional accounting and reporting.
  • Monitor the numerous facilities activities and provide necessary assistance and recommendations.
  • Provide leadership by identifying areas for improvement for policies, procedures, and operating methods.
  • Drive to implement technology-based solutions and processes that address specific issues or provide improved efficiencies.

Ultimately, you will play an important role on the Corporate Finance team by overseeing costing and compliance across the operations accounting area. You will partner with Business Unit Finance team counterparts to help them understand manufacturing operating costs and drive their business forward. We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 10+ years of professional and progressive accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of cost and/or plant accounting experience.
  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring a diverse staff.
  • Proficient in MS Office with high proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficient in large, automated financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, Hyperion, and Smartview.
  • GAAP knowledge related to Inventory and Cost of Sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Exercise sound judgment with the ability to take calculated risks and make risk/return recommendations.
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
  • Ability to be discreet with confidential information.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • CPA Certification.
  • Prior SAP experience.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures used in the CPG industry.
