We currently have an opportunity for a Consumer & Food Packaging Technology Manager to join our team located in Bellwood, VA.
Your Role:
As a Consumer & Food Packaging Technology Manager, you will manage and provide internal and external technical expertise for all phases of product and process development and testing from concept to commercialization. You will have the opportunity to:
- Project Management – Aligning resources according to project prioritization across the RCP Businesses to manage technical aspects of product and process development, ensuring close alignment and communication with all business groups.
- Manage and provide product and quality assurance test specifications and procedures.
- Support cost reduction and quality assurance efforts and projects.
- Oversee the testing of competitive product samples including the development of testing methods and protocols.
- Manage test laboratory processes, equipment, and calibrations to ensure compliance with industry standards, and to support QA Laboratory functions across business units.
- Manage Reynolds Specification Management System, including the building and revising of product and packaging specifications.
- In locations where applicable, assist in development programs and practices to ensure compliance with Safe Quality Products (SQP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
Ultimately, you will manage and provide resources to assist Operations, Quality, Consumer Response, Marketing, and Legal teams with audits, product issues, and market comparisons. We need you to have:
- BS degree in Engineering.
- 10+ years of related engineering experience in the consumer products and/or food packaging industry.
- Demonstrated track record of identifying, developing, and launching innovative consumer products and packaging solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead efforts related to cost reduction and efficiency/effectiveness.
- Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring a technical staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
- Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
- A Levelheaded Leader and Mentor, cutting through distraction to give clear direction along with growing the talent within the group.
- Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of metals, polymers, paper, adhesives, inks, and coatings used in food packaging products.
- Proficiency with physical/mechanical properties measurement and lab equipment.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- In-depth experience with experimental design and statistical analysis.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with teams in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities and customers.
Icing on the cake:
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- SharePoint, SAP, and CAD experience.
