We are searching for a Transportation Operations Specialist to join our team located in Lake Forest, IL. 

Your Role:

As a Transportation Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for will overseeing and providing tactical and strategic direction of designated key components (i.e technology/processes/mode options) of the transportation planning and execution functionality within RCP. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist the Supply-Chain (CI) Manager leverage aggregate transportation synergies/cost and service optimization across our extended (LCTS) business environment        
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement within the transportation functionality at RCP. Conduct monthly or as warranted calibration meetings with our shared services partner (Pactiv) to review critical transportation KPI data outputs and prevailing business trends 
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Logistics & Supply-Chain Finance Manager on facilitating enhanced KPI reporting metrics and prescriptive root cause analysis on off-scheduled events driving incremental spend and customer centric OTIF fines
  • Serve as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) on any technical issue/functionality and maintenance requirements within the TMS/JDA module

Ultimately,  you will be the primary conduit for facilitating targeted end-to-end responsibility related to seamlessly servicing our internal and external  customers to prescribed levels and within established costing/budgetary thresholds.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Procurement, Logistics, or a related field
  • 6+ years of related professional and progressive logistics/transportation centric experience in a high volume CPG environment with multiple plant and DC footprint
  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advance degree a plus.
  • APICS, PMO, Lean or Six Sigma accreditation training desirable for role.
