We are searching for a General Counsel Assoicate to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Your Role:

As a General Counsel  Associate, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day guidance on legal issues and risk mitigation strategies.  This role will effectively make recommendations on direction and issue resolutions while supporting the General Counsel and assisting in the development and implementation of process improvements, policies, and procedures.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Provides legal advice, guidance, and representation to RCP and its related entities with respect to business, transactional, governance, regulatory, policy, advocacy, commercial, and compliance matters
  • Review and provide legal advice on CPG issues including trademarks and trade dress, packaging and advertising
  • Conduct research regarding specific legal and regulatory issues.
  • Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters

Ultimately, you will play an important part in our company by monitoring and maintaining current knowledge of current trends in the CPG industry and pursue ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge on best practices.

We need you to have:

  • JD - Appropriately licensed to practice law in Illinois
  • 10+ years’ experience, preferably advising CPG companies
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills, including the ability to clearly describe complex issues
  • Ability to exercise judgment and diplomacy while addressing sensitive or challenging issues with internal or external stakeholders
