Your Role:

As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for month end close, journal entries and related month end reporting, quarterly HFM reporting and Tax reporting as well as preparation of account reconciliations. Review balance sheet reserves and provide recommendations to the Finance Director relative to management of open items.

 You will have the opportunity to:

  • Calculate, analyze and assure timely payment of Royalties, Broker commissions, professional fees, HST/GST
  • Responsible for sales promotion accounting and maintenance of appropriate promotional accruals
  • Validate and track customer deductions against pricing – resolve invalid deductions and customer post audits
  • Providing support and expertise in evaluating various customer initiatives. Will require strong commercial business knowledge on customer programs, pricing administration and analysis

Ultimately, you will manage two positons and assure the day to day performance and support of a Pricing/A/R Administrator and A/P A/R Administrator.

We need you to have:

  • Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills with all levels of management including Senior Executives
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, ability to set and work to deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive in owning projects and processes, working independently without detailed instruction
  • Strong accounting knowledge – previous experience with transactional accounting
  • Good understanding of commodity taxes

Icing on the cake:

  • Experience in a major ERP (e.g. SAP) and Business Intelligence system preferred
  • High proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint mandatory and experience in Pivot Tables would be preferred
