Then we have an opportunity for you! We currently have an opportunity for an­­­ Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our team at our manufacturing plant located in Huntersville, NC.

 

Your Role:

As an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist you will work closely with the EHS Plant Manager and aid in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and procedures that enhance safety awareness and compliance with guidelines and policies. You will also provide technical assistance to management and engineering staff as needed regarding compliance requirements for OSHA, EPA, DOT and other governmental regulatory agencies that may apply to new processes, equipment or materials to be introduced in plant operations. You will have an opportunity to:

  • Coordinate and lead site safety and environmental inspections
  • Assist in the negotiation of environmental permits that are cost effective and have reasonable constraints
  • Develop training programs for employees on pertinent safety and health topics
  • Investigate and find the root cause of incidents and determine corrective action plans
  • Serve as a Team Lead to the Safety Committee by drafting agenda items, facilitating problem solving, produce site EHS metrics to track Committee progress and EHS program efficiency.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Environmental, Health, Safety or a related field
  • Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office, including Excel

Icing on the cake:

  • 1-3 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Environmental Health and Safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, OHST, CHMM, REM
  • Master’s degree in a related field
