We are searching for a Manager of Engineering-Innovation and Sustainability located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL. 

Your Role:

As a Manager of Engineering-Innovation and Sustainability, you will be responsible for identifing and managing internal and external resources to develop new products, technologies, and processes for Reynolds brands.  You will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage R&D for new product development projects from ideation through commercialization with minimal direction and work closely with broader cross functional team throughout the stage gate process.
  • Develop and manage sustainability strategy for RCP across all business units, which includes providing thought leadership on sustainability strategies for product lines and executing programs such as “How to Recycle” across the organization.
  • Utilize project plans to set team priorities, deliver on project milestones, prepare for contingencies and find solutions to technical barriers and obstacles.
  • Lead successful execution and documentation of internal and consumer trials.

Ultimately, you will provide technical leadership to team problem solving, identifying new project opportunities and guiding the development of the initiatives through engineering, research and prototyping.

Your Role:

As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and presenting various technical reviews, reports, or capital projects in support of cost reduction, new product, quality, process improvement and safety initiatives for the Waste Bags and Food Bags Business Units. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Track all projects within the Polyethylene Technology (PET) group and maintain critical timelines
  • Ensure all projects follow the Stage Gate process
  • Remove conflicts and constraints regarding resource availability
  • Facilitate product selection, design features, location, and equipment for production

Ultimately, you will ensure that we are innovative and productive by removing all obstacles preventing the successful completion of PET projects and therefore you will be of great importance to our company.

We need you to have:

  • BS or MS required in Engineering with emphasis in Mechanical, Chemical or Materials
  • 5+ years’ experience in product development working with cross functional team developing and commercializing new products within a CPG company
  • Experience working with focus groups and consumer studies 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on new product development efforts
  • Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or Advanced Degree
