Your Role:

The Director of Transportation is a key position within the Reynolds Consumer Products (RCP) value chain, with end-to-end responsibility for serving our Customers and delivering our aggregate cost profile to integrated supply-chain.   The role is required to bring strategic ownership and operational execution to the organization ensuring the optimal transportation solution from source to delivery with a keen focus around balancing total landed cost, service and safety as outlined in our Focus Action Plans.                                       

 

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and manage the Strategic buy of RCP’s transportation spend
  • Develop and implement a flexible, agile and sustainable transportation solution leveraging advanced technology enablers, best in breed practices, industry trends and route to market transformation strategies.       
  • Optimize team structure, role definition and talent development including recruitment and succession planning efforts.         
  • Serve as a high level SME (Subject Matter Expert) on any technical issue/functionality and maintenance requirements within the TMS/JDA module.
  • Strengthen service through a combination of critical and actionable KPI’s, route compliance, core carrier methodologies and control tower alignment with ISC initiatives.
  • Leverage “Lean”/Six Sigma methodologies across aggregate supply-chain business landscape to drive standardization and related cost and service synergies.   
  • Represent RCP in select industry trade conferences and supply-chain organizations (i.e CSCMP & Gartner) to build broader network center of excellence/information sharing mentality.
  • Ensure our weekly deliveries are meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations   
  • Working collaboratively with customer service/sales, develop ongoing and customized business solutions aimed at mitigating onerous OTIF fine business operating environment.    
  • Ideate and implement cost savings proposals while lowering overall transportation expenditures.
  • Formalize our International logistics and transportation go to market strategy leveraging both import and export trade compliance programs and regulatory protocols.
  • Blueprint in concert with RCP sourcing/ procurement team a comprehensive Inbound Transportation Design infrastructure aimed at leveraging excess capacity, cost, service and financial transparency.

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of multi-function supply chain experience
  • Direct and hands-on warehouse operations management experience
  • Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Basic math and analytical skills

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or another advanced degree
  • Team management experience
