Then we have an opportunity for you! We currently have an opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Director- Resins and Direct Materials located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Your Role:

As a Strategic Sourcing Director- Resins and Direct Materials, you will be responsible for the overall strategic leadership, development, and strategy implementation for sourcing as well sourcing our direct materials categories including resins, colorants, additives, and packaging.

The Director of Strategic Sourcing, Polystyrene, PET, and sustainable materials, is responsible for Sourcing of Direct Material categories that includes Polystyrene, PET, and sustainable materials with responsibility of ~$250MM in annual spend.  This role will have responsibility for strategy development and implementation leveraging direct or indirect reports.  Additionally, this role will be directly lead the Strategy Development for our sustainable materials and resins to support product innovation and business sustainability targets. 

The position will establish and implement effective global sourcing strategies aligned with business needs, building a strong functional organization, establishing best practices, negotiating global contracts with preferred suppliers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. 

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Global leader for procurement of categories responsible for a total spend of $250 million dollars.
  • Leads category management for assigned categories to deliver cost savings, working capital, service, risk management, supplier-led innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Aligns teams and category management processes to meet business needs and sourcing goals.
  • Works collaboratively across various business units and functional areas (Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Commercial leadership)
  • Establishes a supplier relationship management program for a global supply base focused on delivery of year over year savings, innovation, performance, and quality.
  • Operates collaboratively and as a business partner
  • Responsible for setting stretch but realistic targets for any direct reports that include functional, individual and service provider performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members and maintain an integrated, well-trained, effective and highly motivated team supported by effective policy, procedural and training frameworks.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry
  • Experience managing commodity raw materials, resins, and petrochemicals
  • Prior team management
  • Experience with direct material strategic sourcing, specifically resins
  • Excellent financial analysis and negotiating skills
  • Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification
  • Six Sigma green or black belt
