We are searching for a  Director of Consumer Insights located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Your Role:

As the Director of Consumer Insights you will leverage evidence-based consumer understanding to identify insights that facilitate speed and accuracy of strategic and tactical decision making across all parts of the organization. This individual works closely with business unit leaders to understand their research needs and executes that research with excellence. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Partnership with the entire Consumer Insights and Data Analytics team, drive a consumer brand culture within RCP by demonstrating the strategic and financial significance of building a portfolio of brands whose innovation, product plans, positioning, marketing, and activation plans are anchored in evidence-based consumer understanding.
  • Work with business teams to leverage data to drive a balance of base business growth and innovation-driven growth.
  • Work closely with business units and the broader Insights and Analytics team to create strategic, efficient, and business-building learning plans.
  • Plan, design, and execute market research that delivers value to RCP at the enterprise and business unit levels.
  • Provide clear, strategic direction to external research partners that results in stellar research outputs and greater research ROI.
  • Oversees project-related vendor relationships. Works closely with Director of Data Analytics to enable agency development and increase data and reporting quality.
  • Work closely with the Director of Data Analytics to bring forward integrated data solutions.
  • Drive institutional knowledge by sharing key consumer insights (as well as new/superior research methodologies) across the organization.

Ultimately, you will look for opportunities to more efficiently commission research across business units and leverage a deep understanding of current best practices across all market research methodologies. You will also works closely with the Director of Data Analytics to bring forward integrated data solutions.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing or related field 
  • 10+ years in CPG market research
  • 7+ years of team management experience with a proven track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring diverse market research teams
  • Extensive experience with business-enabling qualitative and quantitative methodologies (including a broad range of qualitative methodologies and techniques, marketing mix modeling/predictive analytics, volume forecasting, conjoint, MaxDiff, TURF, Habits and Practices, segmentation, claims testing, packaging testing, brand and communications testing, product testing, brand health and equity tracking, concept testing
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office.

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA, MMR or MMS or other advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Advanced certifications or extensive experience with data analytics and insights
