Your Role:

As a Category Manager, you will utilize all tools available to analyze category trends and consumer insights as well as brand level performance. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Providing category and shopper insights using internal data and Syndicated Data in relation to item distribution, modular shelving processes, industry and market trends and pricing.
  • Act as the category and competition subject matter expert for interfacing with company headquarters business groups and provides fact based business insights to support the business strategies relative to Wal-Mart.
  • Establish strong working relationships, internally and externally, focused on the Wal-Mart business across selected category.
  • Provide retailer category management and internal management with weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting according to their needs

Ultimately, you will have advanced category management responsibility for one or more categories, operating at the Category Advisor level in at least one category

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
  • 7+ years of related professional Category Management and Shopper Insight experience
  • Ability to travel periodically about 20-30% of the time
  • Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Strong knowledge in the use of system software, planogram software, and syndicated data supplier tools such as Nielsen’s Nitro

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or another advanced degree
  • Prior experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods company
