We are searching for a Transportation Capacity Planning Manager to join our team located at our Corporate office in Lake, Forest, IL.

Your Role:

The Transportation Capacity Planning Manager is responsible for the procurement, development, delegation, and associated performance of freight carrier awards, routing guide compliance and maintenance. The individual will play a critical role in the continual analysis and successful execution of the transportation routing guide, carrier relations and development, and operational continuous improvement. 

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Identify gaps in current transportation routing guide plan via service, cost, network analysis. 
  • Collaborate with materials, supply, demand planning teams to better utilize forecasts and outside input with regard to transportation needs. Proactively communicate with transportation procurement and relevant carriers to ensure plans are in place prior to need.
  • Monitor carrier award compliance and understand drivers for failure.
  • Identify, initiate, and lead initiatives with peers and leaders to mitigate unplanned costs and service impacts.
  • Host daily and weekly carrier communication engagement, including routine carrier score carding calls to collectively understand needs and opportunities for various parties.
  • Identify root cause failures with data and facts at hand; opportunities for improvement internally and externally, and engage relevant peers and managers and provide choice and suggestions for resolution.
  • Provide ongoing support for the development and improvement of reporting, carrier scorecard and contract management.
  • Identify opportunities internally and with external customer and third-party stakeholders to improve transportation chain towards best-in-class.

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or relatable field, required
  • 5+ years’ experience with supply chain procurement, required
  • 5+ years’ experience in U.S. domestic transportation (shipper or carrier), required
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency level advanced to expert (pivot tables, IF statements, vlookup, etc.), required
  • Multiple TMS, WMS, order management experience, preferred
  • Prior experience with Tableau, PowerBI, preferred

Icing on the cake:

  • Experience in the consumer product goods (CPG) industry
  • Business writing, formal presentation skills and experience, project management, sales experience, a plus
  • Operational, budget-oriented, and customer service mindset, a plus
  • SAP, JDA, a plus
