We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Operations Accountant located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, Illinois.

Your Role:

As a Senior Operations Accountant, you will be responsible for finance support and business partnership of the manufacturing facilities in the pursuit of continuous improvement.  This role serves as a financial resource for the Business Unit Finance, Manufacturing, Logistics, Sourcing, and Demand Planning and identifies trends and communicates results to key stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to:

• Identify, lead and execute Continuous improvement initiatives to ensure close process efficiency, including potential use of automation, system enablers (HFM), etc.
• Prepare reports related to inventory valuation, net realizable value, etc.
• Partner with plant controllers and Business Unit finance leaders to drive monthly close, as well as analyze monthly costing trends to provide projected month end results
• Provide support for the monthly and annual standard cost roll up process
• Support Related party accounting inquiries to facilitate appropriate revenue/ cost recognition    
• Participate in or lead cross-functional teams on small to medium special projects
• Provide information to internal and external auditor requests

Ultimately, you will be responsible for reviewing the balance sheet of facilities to ensure accuracy of underlying data and analyze inventory accounts and prepare related reporting for senior management.

We need you to have:

• BA/BS in accounting
• 5+ years financial accounting experience with journal entries
• Experience with large automated financial systems such as SAP, Business Warehouse or other large ERPs
• Proficiency in Excel

Icing on the cake:

• MBA or another advanced degree
• Exposure to a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
