Your Role:

The Quality Engineer for Presto Products is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing and suppliers meet a level of quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations. With direct focus on quality engineering support, developing, establishing, and maintaining quality systems that allow our products to meet customer and food safety requirements.  

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Responsible for supplier quality management: ensuring specifications are clear, qualifying new products/suppliers, monitoring ongoing performance, reporting monthly metrics, working with key suppliers on process improvements and complaint reduction, etc.
  • Reviews vendor products and components providing insight into their quality and performance.
  • Statistically analyzes test data, draws appropriate conclusions, and uses that knowledge to drive quality improvement at manufacturing locations and suppliers.
  • Identifies issues, investigates and performs root cause analysis of complaints, and develops corrective actions.
  • Coordinates AQL product inspections and publishes audit results when applicable.
  • Improves quality systems by completing timely internal audits and implementing improvements.
  • Performs documentation/procedure reviews to ensure compliance with customer and business requirements.
  • Collaborates and communicates with Quality Departments at several facilities to improve quality
  • In locations where applicable, responsible to comply with the GFSI standards, prerequisite programs and GMP practices to ensure food safety requirements are met. To report potential food safety concerns to those with authority to take action.

We need you to have:

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent work experience in related fields
  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience as QA Engineer - conducting quality analysis, quality improvement, quality support, etc.
  • Experience with BRCGS or other GFSI food safety standards
  • Experience using standard quality tools such as Corrective Action, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, etc.
  • Strong statistical knowledge required, preferably with experience in Minitab
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Location: Appleton, WI, strongly preferred (other Presto locations: Lake Forest, IL; Carrollton, TX; Lewiston, UT; South Boston, VA, will be considered)
