Are you looking to build a strong career? Then we have an opportunity for you!  We currently have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager for our Presto Specialty division. The ideal location may be within the Midwest or located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Your Role:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for development of markets and new products  of Fresh-lock® zipper and slider closures to assigned customers worldwide with a focus on North and South America. They will develop and execute sound commercial strategies to increase existing base business, develop and grow new accounts through the sales team, while also actively calling on targeted markets and targeted customers with existing and new products.

  • Guide long-term business development
  • identify target markets, develop sales strategy, plans and budgets
  • Travel 50% of the time
  • Support new product roll out team in named targeted markets.
  • Work with technical support, manufacturing and other support teams as needed to resolve customer problems.
  • Provide input to management for building the annual sales forecast for the region.
  • Maintain a record of accounts, contacts and account activity using CRM platform.
  • Attend and participate in major industry trade shows which the business participates in.
  • Complete all required administrative duties in a timely manner.
  • Network with key industry OEM’s and film suppliers in the region.
  • Monitor competitive activity within the region and report to the business management team.

Ultimately, you will sell directly, ensure smooth execution of programs, and manage accounts while generating leads and networking with a focus on North and South America customers.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years of related professional and progressive Sales Experience, preferably in flexible packaging or a related industry
  • Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office
  • Self-driven, motivated and results oriented
  • Demonstrated skills and attributes include problem solving, negotiation and persuasive communication skills (written, presentation, verbal).

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Flexible packaging operations knowledge is a plus
