Are you looking to build a strong career? Then we have an opportunity for you! We currently have a Maintenance Engineer position open at our facility in Mississauga, Ontario.

Your Role:

As our Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible to coordinate and optimize the functional requirements of the Maintenance Department (4-7 employees). Working closely with Production, Production Planning, Engineering and Health and Safety groups to set priorities and resolve key production issues, while maintaining required company health, safety, environmental and quality policies and practices, including the corporate Code of Conduct, to ensure a safe work environment for all.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Fully integrate, update and utilize the current CMMS.
  • Plan, schedule and audit preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assign work orders to maintenance personnel.
  • Train employees and monitor the quality of their work.
  • Provide weekly updates on PM and work order completion.
  • Have full responsibility for the maintenance spare parts mezzanine.
  • Provide over sight and guidance during downtime repairs.
  • Perform Safety audits of Maintenance Personal.
  • Perform Job task risk analysis on routine and non-routine jobs.
  • Track and analyze downtime.
  • Improve and maintain inter-shift communication.
  • Evaluate and report on Maintenance Personnel performance while escalating as appropriate.
  • Work with Maintenance Personnel to maintain the maintenance shop layout, cleanliness and perform 5S audits.
  • Work with contractors and vendors to maintain the building and its systems. 

Ultimately, you will be using your expertise to develop employees, make recommendations for materials and services, and provide direction to the maintenance work force (Industrial Millwright Mechanics, Electricians, and Set-up Technicians) in addressing daily plant equipment and facility issues, while maintaining an effective preventive maintenance program.

We need you to have:

  • Formal technical education such as an Engineering degree or Technician certification (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical) or Technician certification (Mechanical, Electrical)
  • 3+ years of related plant manufacturing experience
  • Competence with the Microsoft suite of software products and CMMS

Icing on the cake:

  • Previous experience within the packaging industry
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
