Your Role:

The Lead Maintenance Supervisor directs the operations of a multiple Union Maintenance workforce; maintains the facilities, preserves assets, optimizes equipment utilization by reducing unscheduled downtime, and provides technical support through the effective deployment of employees, outside resources, and material; provides the leadership to ensure the control and capability of critical processes, the application of statistical techniques, and the involvement of people at all levels to solve problems, meet customer requirements and comply with Reynolds’ and other applicable regulatory standards. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Direct the front line Maintenance Supervisors to support production and improvement projects for reducing unplanned equipment downtime. 
  • Manage safety of work force. 
  • Support Safety, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Production and HR in plant initiatives. 
  • Maintain area maintenance metrics that are reported to management. 
  • Maintain hourly personnel files. This includes filing all documents related to Company policy such as employee counseling, time and attendance, work performance, etc.
  • Emphasize improved equipment reliability and efficiency through Preventive and Predictive maintenance initiatives.
  • Interact with Union Leadership to maintain open communication and resolve disputes.
  • Ensure performance management/development plans of all direct and indirect reports.
  • Ensure compliance of direct reports with the Company’s environmental, health and safety protocols along with other Company policies.
  • Responsible for meeting financial goals that include efficient use of labor, overtime control and supplies management.
  • Assist the maintenance planning and engineering groups in determining solutions to technical problems involving rolling mills, separators, annealing furnaces, and spoolers, and packaging equipment.

We need you to have:

  • BS/BA in a technical field preferred.  
  • Requires 3 -5 years in a similar role at a unionized manufacturing facility.
  • Requires strong labor relations background.
  • Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to develop maintenance personnel staff so they are knowledgeable of the process and have the skill set to quickly troubleshoot and repair problematic equipment. 
  • A good understanding of production processes, reliability methods, planning and scheduling, training and development, computer systems, and quality techniques is critical.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong leadership skills.  
  • Must be able to support a 24/7 production schedule by taking calls during nights and weekends.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills needed

Icing on the cake:

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations is a plus.
  • Qualified in NFPA – 70 E for Electrical work is a plus.
