We currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Richmond, VA.

Your Role:  

The Laboratory Technician works with the Tableware Quality Manager to provide test data used to optimize the quality, safety and profitability of consumer products made by Reynolds throughout the world.

Test and analyze competitive product samples by summarizing analysis of testing methods and protocols: 

  • New Product Development & Product Improvement, building prototypes or proof of concept working models, testing products, samples for market research. 
  • Monitor product quality from internal and external sources.
  • Support Consumer Response Team by performing tests as appropriate on returned samples to determine cause of complaint.

Support QA Laboratory functions across business units:

  • Assist with audits, programs, and practices to ensure compliance with industry standards, Safe Quality Products (SQP), and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

Maintain laboratory workspace and equipment:

  • Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment
  • Maintain calibration schedules on lab equipment
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment

We need you to have:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of related laboratory testing experience desired, preferably in the consumer products and/or food packaging industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
  • General working knowledge of metals, polymers, paper, adhesives, inks, and coatings used in food packaging products.
  • Proficiency with physical/mechanical properties measurement and lab equipment
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Icing on the cake:

  • College level science courses,  a plus.
