We currently have an opening for Maintenance Technician, Electrical at our Presto Products manufacturing plant in Weyauwega, WI.

Job Description:

As a Maintenance Technician, Electrical you will be responsible for providing shift maintenance support to keep all production lines and supporting process equipment running for needed levels of availability, capacity, and reliability.  The successful candidate is self-driven, with the passion to deliver service excellence in support of plant performance objectives for safety, quality, cost, and service.


  1. Work safely, in a manner that protects and promotes the health and well-being of the individual, fellow employees, and the environment.
  2. Understand and apply safe electrical operating procedures, consistent with industry standards and company safety policies at all times.
  3. Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting (e.g. PLC, SCADA, complex motor/drive and control systems) on production lines, and all supporting process equipment.
  4. Replace defective components and parts such as thermocouples & heaters, drives, PLC’s, etc.
  5. Maintain a good working relationship with the production team by responding to service needs in a timely manner, providing good communication, and positive attitude.
  6. Make value judgments regarding equipment repair or replacement costs.
  7. Engage outside resources and procure information as necessary to service or repair equipment.
  8. Provide assistance to the Preventive Maintenance / Day Service Team with PM tasks when needed.
  9. Assist with completion of Work Orders as requested.
  10. Assist with identifying and maintaining inventory of critical spares for plant electrical / controls components for production lines, and supporting plant process equipment.
  11. Maintain a neat and orderly work area; remove all tools or debris following maintenance on equipment.
  12. Participate in pre-job safety meetings with Presto Team and Outside Contractors where required, and maintain ongoing safety training to ensure work is performed safely, and within Corporate Policies.
  13. Maintain detailed log of maintenance work performed, to promote good communication among all service team members, with good hand-off to upcoming Shift.
  14. Comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) programs to ensure products meet the requirements for safe packaging of food products and report food safety concerns to those with authority to take action.
  15. Provide coverage for opposite Shift Maintenance Technician to cover Vacation / LOA’s as required.
  16. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by plant Technical Manager.

  • Minimum 3 Years related work experience in Electrical Maintenance or similar role
  • Formal education (certificates, diploma, etc.) in Electrical principles required
  • Knowledge of AC and DC motors/drives, PLC’s, and SCADA systems
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Code, and ability to read electrical prints
  • Willingness to learn through on the job shadowing, and classes (if needed) to build skills required for role
  • Self-driven, with ability to work individually, or as part of a team
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools, and basic maintenance shop equipment. Advanced skills not required.
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms and equipment when necessary, with proper safety provisions
  • Basic working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Good Safety, Behavior, and Attendance Record
