Are you looking to build a strong career? Then we have an opportunity for you! We are searching for a Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in Tamaqua, PA.

Your Role:

As an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will be responsible for pursuing safety excellence in a manufacturing environment by interacting with operations, maintenance and engineering.   Under the guidance of the EHS Manager, you will champion, design, develop and implement safety improvement projects, programs, systems and procedures to reduce risk and further a safety-minded culture.

You will have the opportunity to: 

  • Develop and Implement EHS Programs – to maintain and expand a solid foundation of EHS excellence.
  • Champion the Ergonomic Process – by providing training, developing a team, performing assessments and implementing improvements. 
  • Lead EHS Training Initiatives - by adding a personal touch to the existing programs to enhance effectiveness.
  • Spearhead Environmental Programs – Air emissions, hazardous/universal waste, SPCC, waste water, etc. 
  • Contribute to Workers Compensation case management, engineering design reviews, contractor pre-job plans and management of change.

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in environmental, health, safety or related fields
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with environmental permitting and programs (air emissions, waste, SPCC, storm water, waste water
  • Technical/working knowledge of federal, state and local EHS regulations
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to lead projects and produce/maintain project schedules
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  •  

Icing on the cake:

  • Master’s Degree with a concentration in environmental or health and safety
  • EHS Certifications (ASP, CSP, OHST, CHMM, REM)
  • Experience with EHS information management systems
  • Technical knowledge of industrial equipment\
