Then we have an opportunity for you! We currently have an opportunity for an Engineering Technician located at our Hefty plant in Temple, Texas.

Your Role:

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for keeping us on track for our operational objectives by providing safe, cost effective, high quality, technical, and robust equipment & process improvements.

• Make design changes that drive our safety initiatives
• Focus on reliability maintenance and solve problems to root cause
• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to service and repair our machinery and equipment.
• Rotational on call operations technical support
• Procure required materials and information from outside resources.
• Create and present technical training material
• Customer focused on how to improve the ease of use of the equipment and robustness of the equipment.

We need you to have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Enthusiasm and initiative
• Advanced electrician skills
• Drives skills
• Advanced mechanical repair skills
• Ability to find the root cause of equipment or process failures and then execute a solution to eliminate the cause.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with some nights and weekends
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Experience in a  Hefty manufacturing facility
• The ability to complete designs independently and/or with group collaboration within 6 months of taking the position.
• The ability to become a strong mechanical designer with advanced electrical troubleshooting skills or the ability to become a strong drives technician with advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• The ability to use computer software programs fluently.  Prior to the position, you must be capable of using Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word. During the first 6 months of this role, you should master SAP & CMMS software programs.  You will be required to read prints and create prints in a drawing software program.
• The ability to recognize who your internal customers are in the design improvement role and collaborate with them.

Icing on the Cake:

• PLC Programing Experience in a manufacturing setting
