Are you looking to build a strong career? Then we have an opportunity for you! We are searching for a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

 

Your Role:

As the Corporate Accounting Manager you will oversee the accounting activities for the Corporate segment, with a direct line of sight into the business segment finance teams to drive harmonization in the financial reporting cycle.  This role will have exposure to financial leadership and will be tasked with building schedules to be presented as part of our monthly financial review meetings. 

In addition, this role will collaborate with cross functional teams as part of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting cycles, owning the reporting around the Corporate SG&A functions, while engaging the business segments to craft a consolidated total company SG&A view to be presented to executive management.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage in initiatives to standardize accounting practices across the business, with a focus on integrating processes that are new to the business.
  • Collaborate on financial and strategic projects to drive continuous improvements and growth opportunities to our internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interact with all levels of the finance organization during the month end close and financial reporting processes, including exposure to the executive leadership team.
  • Lead the charge on developing the quarterly forecast and annual budget processes across the Corporate SG&A segment, in addition to presenting the forecasts/budget to the financial leadership team.

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA Certification or another advanced degree
  • 5-7 years of “Big 4” public accounting or related large public company experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Hands on experience with SAP or other large ERP systems
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to recognize unusual trends
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail oriented and organized, able to multi-task and work within strict deadline oriented environment
  • Hyperion Reporting and Planning system experience

Icing on the cake:

  • Previous exposure to budget and forecast processes, primarily around headcount related activities
  • Experience in accounting for medical benefits and fringe expenses, including accounting for pension expenses
